Rice water is a great natural fertilizer for orchids as it encourages the flowering of this beautiful plant. I use it to improve growth and keep leaves green.
Used correctly, it helps clean leaves, supports roots, and boosts blooms. With enough nutrition, your orchid will flower all year round.

2. Prepare Rice Water Orchid Fertilizer
Step 1. Take a bowl and put 5 Tbsp of rice in it. Pour in 500 ml of water at room temperature.

Step 2. Mix the rice well and wash the rice before cooking. Then filter the water to wash the rice.

This rice water is what you will use for leaves and roots. Keep it at room temperature for best results.

3. Use Rice Water Orchid Fertilizer on Leaves
Rice Water Orchid Fertilizer leaf wipe

Use a cotton ball soaked in this rice water. Wipe on the top and bottom of the leaves.

It will help clean the surface of the leaves, remove disease fungi and insects on orchids. At the same time, it provides the necessary nutrients for the orchid growth.

Repeat after 2 weeks to help the orchid stay green. Keep the plant in good airflow.

Rice Water Orchid Fertilizer spray method

You can also pour the rice water into a spray bottle. Spray evenly on the top and bottom of the leaves.

This method has the same effect as using cotton balls. Do not spray rice water on flowers.

4. Soak With Rice Water Orchid Fertilizer
Take a deep bowl in which you will place the orchid ready for watering and soaking. You can soak the orchid in this rice water for about 1 hour so that the orchid roots can absorb the most nutrients.

Then remove and repeat this treatment every 14 days. After only 2 to 3 weeks of use, the leaves will be green.

You can see that after fertilizing, the new roots grow very strongly. This will help the orchid best absorb nutrients through its roots.

5. Store Rice Water Orchid Fertilizer
You can also freeze rice water to water your orchids. When needed, take a few cubes.

Wait for them to defrost and reach room temperature, then you can feed your orchids again. Never place frozen blocks directly on the base of the orchid because orchids do not like the cold.

Final Thoughts on Rice Water Orchid Fertilizer
Rice water is simple, gentle, and effective for orchids. Use leaf wipes or sprays, soak the roots, and repeat every 14 days to keep growth strong and blooms lasting. With consistent care and enough nutrition, your orchid will reward you with healthy leaves and flowers.
