First, I took the orchid out of the pot and discovered that many roots were dry and severely damaged. Many roots had turned black, were hollow inside, and had completely died.

I used scissors to cut away all the rotten roots, keeping only the green roots that were still firmly attached to the growing medium. After pruning, the plant’s root system became much cleaner and more airy.

Prepare the Natural Orchid Revival mixture

I started preparing a natural fertilizer from banana peel. I peeled it completely, then cut it into small pieces and put them into a jar.

I added about half a liter of boiling water to help release the nutrients in the banana peel more quickly. Add one spoonful of garlic powder.

Garlic powder not only helps reduce fungal diseases, but also supports the plant’s recovery after repotting and root pruning. I stirred it well, then let it sit until the solution cooled completely before using it for the orchid.

Filter and dilute for Natural Orchid Revival

When the mixture had cooled, I filtered out the residue and kept the liquid to water the orchid. Next, I added 1 liter of clean water to dilute the solution.

I stirred it well, then watered it directly onto the growing medium, pouring slowly so the medium could evenly absorb the nutrients. This mixture soaked deep into the root system, providing essential moisture and natural nutrients for the plant.

The nutrients from the banana peel help stimulate root recovery, allowing the leaves to gradually become green and healthy again. Meanwhile, the garlic powder helps reduce fungal diseases and protect the root system after pruning.

This helps the orchid quickly stabilize, regain vitality, and grow stronger after a period of weakness.

Next, I put the solution into a spray bottle and sprayed it evenly over all the orchid leaves. Misting helps the leaves absorb nutrients faster, increases humidity, and reduces water loss in the weakened plant.

This also contributes to the overall recovery process, helping the leaves gradually become softer, greener, and healthier again. In addition, the nutrients that remain on the leaves help strengthen the plant’s resistance and reduce stress after repotting.

This in turn promotes leaf tissue regeneration and helps the plant stabilize sooner, making the leaves firmer and more vibrant. Finally, I use a soft cotton pad to gently wipe away any excess solution remaining on the leaves.

This method helps remove excess moisture, preventing buildup that could cause fungal diseases or lead to leaf rot. At the same time, it helps reduce fungal infections and supports the plant in safely absorbing nutrients during the recovery stage.

After 3 months of care, the orchid began to stabilize again. The leaves became much greener and more firm, and the wrinkles on the leaves gradually disappeared.

The new root system developed strongly with many healthy green roots continuously growing. Flower buds also began to form, preparing to bloom.

Then I continued using the banana and garlic powder mixture to water the plant. Regular watering helps the plant receive gentle nutrients, allowing it to grow steadily and bloom better.

After just one more month, the orchid began to bloom vigorously. A simple mixture of banana peel and garlic powder helped the wilted orchid fully recover.
